FIT BY FRESNAYE

Privacy Policy

Effective May 1, 2026 · Last updated May 2, 2026

This policy describes the data Fit by Fresnaye collects, how it's used, and the limited set of third-party services involved. Fit is a weight-tracking and wellness companion published by Fresnaye & Company, LLC. We're committed to keeping your health data private — Fit's design treats your data as yours, not ours.

Information We Collect

Account Data

When you sign up, we collect:

If you sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple identifier (a stable token unique to your Apple ID and our app) and — only on first sign-in — your name and email if you choose to share them. Apple may proxy your real email through a private relay address; either form works for account recovery.

Weight Log Data

Weigh-ins you log: date, weight, BMI (computed), and optional notes. Stored on a private database hosted at fresnaye.com. Each user's data is scoped server-side; no user can read another user's entries.

Apple Health Data (HealthKit)

With your explicit permission, Fit reads the following from Apple Health:

Fit also writes your weigh-ins back to Apple Health so the rest of your stack stays in sync.

Apple Health data is read on-device. Only daily aggregates (one row per date — total steps, average resting HR, total sleep, etc.) are synced to Fresnaye's server, and only when you tap "Sync to server" or generate a Pro recap. Raw HealthKit samples never leave your device.

Subscription & Payment Data

Fit Pro is sold as an auto-renewable subscription through Apple's App Store. We never see or store your payment method, billing address, or Apple ID. After a purchase, the App Store sends us a receipt that proves you purchased; we use it to mark your account as Pro until the subscription expires. We retain:

We receive real-time updates from Apple via App Store Server Notifications when your subscription renews, fails to renew, or is refunded.

Device & Notification Data

An Expo push notification token (so we can deliver weekly recap notifications) and a device label (e.g. "iPhone 15") for audit purposes. You can revoke any device by signing out in the app.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared with anyone outside the third-party services listed below.

Third-Party Services

Anthropic (Claude API)

Pro recaps are generated by sending the past seven days of your data to Anthropic's API. Anthropic's processing is governed by their privacy policy. Anthropic does not retain API requests for model training. Each request includes only the data needed for that week's recap (your weight entries, Health aggregates, prior weight for trend context). Free-tier users are not subject to this — recaps are Pro-only.

Apple Health

HealthKit data flows between Apple Health and Fit only on-device. Apple does not have access to the data Fit reads from HealthKit. Your Apple privacy controls govern HealthKit access.

Apple (Sign in with Apple, App Store payments)

If you sign in with Apple, Apple shares a stable identifier and (optionally) your name and email with us. Apple's privacy policy applies to Apple-side data. Subscription billing is handled entirely by Apple's App Store; we never see payment details.

Hostinger (server hosting)

Your weight data and account information are stored on a private database at fresnaye.com, hosted by Hostinger. Hostinger's privacy policy applies to data at rest.

Expo (push notifications)

Push notifications are delivered via the Expo push service, which forwards messages to Apple's Push Notification Service (APNs). Notification content is limited to short status messages (e.g. "Your weekly recap is ready") and never includes weight values or health data.

Your Rights

Data Retention

Weight entries and Apple Health rollups are retained indefinitely so the chart and recaps remain accurate over the long arc of your journey. Bearer tokens are retained until revoked. Recap text is cached per ISO week and overwritten when re-generated. After account deletion, all of your weight, Health, and personal data are deleted; subscription records are retained in anonymized form (with your account flagged as deleted) for tax and audit purposes.

Children

Fit by Fresnaye is not intended for users under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. The app is rated 17+ on the App Store due to health-data sensitivity.

International Users

Fit's servers are located in the United States. By using the app from outside the US, you consent to your data being processed in the US. We comply with applicable data protection laws (including GDPR for EU users and CCPA for California users) — contact us to exercise your rights.

Changes to this Policy

If we materially change how data is collected or used, the policy's "Last updated" date is revised and a notice will appear in the app on next launch.
